About PullUpRigs.com

PullUpRigs.com started in 2016 with a straightforward problem: buying a pull-up rig online is harder than it should be. Weight capacities are inflated. Photos make every product look professional. Half the “reviews” you find are rewritten spec sheets with nothing behind them.

We wanted something different — comparisons that go deeper: ceiling height requirements, stud spacing for wall mounts, and how a rig is engineered to handle dynamic movement like kipping pull-ups.

What We Cover

Our focus is pull-up rigs and the equipment that goes with them. Freestanding rigs, wall-mounted bars, power towers, outdoor stations, and garage gym setups — plus accessories like gymnastic rings, dip bars, resistance bands, and weighted vests.

We don’t cover everything in fitness. We cover pull-up training equipment, and we try to cover it as thoroughly as possible. If a topic isn’t directly relevant to training on a bar or rig, it’s not on this site.

How We Review

Every rig gets evaluated on the same set of criteria: steel gauge and construction quality, weight capacity (real-world, not manufacturer-claimed), stability under dynamic load, footprint and dimensional specs, assembly time and difficulty, and value relative to price.

We pay particular attention to details that are hard to find in product listings. Things like: what do verified buyers say about stability when they add a weight vest? What’s the actual ceiling clearance you need — not what the box says, but what you need to hang with your arms fully extended? Are the assembly instructions any good, or do buyers consistently mention needing a YouTube video to figure them out?

We include honest downsides in every review. If a rig’s padding wears out faster than it should, or the instructions are genuinely bad, we say so.

We don’t physically test every rig in this list — most listings ship from warehouses across the country, and buying 50+ pieces of gym equipment just to photograph them isn’t realistic. Instead, we build every comparison from manufacturer specifications, verified buyer reviews (including photos and long-term ownership reports), and video assembly/use footage. Affiliate Disclosure

PullUpRigs.com participates in the Amazon Associates Program. If you buy something through a link on this site, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

This doesn’t change which products we recommend. We’d rather point you to a $150 rig that does the job than push a $600 rig that earns us more. Long-term, the only thing that matters is that you trust what we write — and that only works if we’re straight with you.
