Our Research Methodology

How We Research Pull-Up Equipment

PullUpRigs.com is an independent research and comparison site — we don’t manufacture, sell, or receive free products from brands. Here’s exactly how we build our recommendations.

What we look at for every rig

  • Manufacturer specifications: steel gauge, weight capacity (static and rated dynamic load where published), dimensions, warranty terms
  • Verified buyer reviews across multiple retailers, including photos and long-term ownership reports (6–12+ months where available)
  • Assembly and use footage from buyers and reviewers, to catch issues that don’t show up in a spec sheet
  • Common failure points reported across dozens of listings for a given category
  • Price history and typical discount patterns, so our “typical price” reflects reality, not a launch-day promo

What we don’t do

We don’t claim to have physically assembled and load-tested every rig in our recommendations. With 50+ products across five categories, hands-on testing of everything isn’t something we can honestly claim — and we’d rather tell you that plainly than pretend otherwise.

Our scoring

Every rig we recommend is scored against the criteria above by category (construction, stability, dimensions, ease of installation, versatility, verified buyer sentiment, and value). We don’t publish a fake star rating — we publish the reasoning.

Established in 2016
